The Nature of Emotions

Tuesday, October 20

6:00–7:00 PM

Please join Dr. Amanda Craig and her intern, Mia Torres, at the Darien Nature Center for a special parent-child workshop designed for 4th and 5th graders and their parents.

This summer, Mia spent time learning about child development and exploring programs designed to support children and families. Inspired by what she learned, she teamed up with Dr. Craig to create a meaningful evening focused on something every family can relate to: staying connected as kids grow and emotions get bigger.

Together, Dr. Craig and Mia will lead an interactive workshop where parents and children can talk, laugh, learn, and get curious about one another. Through engaging activities and conversation, families will explore emotions and practice simple communication tools they can continue using at home.

We hope families leave understanding one another a little better—and with a few new ways to communicate, navigate big emotions, and stay connected as kids grow.
