Sofia is an experiential educator who joined the Nature Center in 2026. Having grown up in Darien, she was shaped by nature-based programs and has been engaged as an educator since earning her degree in Environmental Studies from UC Santa Barbara. She spends her summers sailing for the Hurricane Island Outward Bound School, with the mission of impelling students to connection, curiosity, and independence through experiences in nature - a philosophy that overlaps with and informs her work at the DNC. In her free time, she loves to swim, read, paint, and do yoga.
