Call of
the Wild
Sunday, October 19th at 3:00 p.m.
The Darien Nature Center is excited to bring Atka,
the Arctic wolf, back to the Darien Nature Center on
Sunday, October 19th at 3:00 p.m. A fun event for
the entire family, tickets are available at the
Darien Nature Center . Our last wolf presentation
was standing room only and unfortunately, many were
turned away at the door. So, please reserve a space
in advance.
The Wolf Conservation Center in South Salem , New
York , will do a 45-minute multimedia presentation
on the history, mythology, biology, social structure
and ecological importance of the wolf. They will
clarify “fact” versus “folklore” about this
essential predator.
The Wolf Conservation Center was founded on the
philosophy that personal acquaintance of people with
captive wolves builds a bridge of understanding and
concern for wolves in the wild. By educating the
public about these shy, intelligent and socially
complex creatures, the Wolf Conservation Center
hopes to promote more responsible stewardship of the
fragile ecosystem that supports the wolves and other
wildlife.
Ticket proceeds will go directly to the Wolf
Conservation Center , which is managed completely by
volunteers and funded solely through donations.
