About Us
Thirty years ago,
a group of dedicated Darien citizens founded the Darien
Nature Center, under the aegis of the Darien Community
Association. With a small staff and many devoted volunteers
these early visionaries carried forth the vision of “a
center for nature study, field trips, teaching and
exhibits.”
Today, the Darien Nature Center boasts a state of the art
environmental center designed to foster an educated interest
in and respect for the natural world. Both young and old
alike enjoy programs, exhibits and special events
year-round.
As for the future, our planet is always in need of
champions. We sincerely hope that our efforts to educate our
citizenry will continue too be appreciate and serve to make
us all better stewards of the environment.
